ABSTRACT
The optimization of the wastewater flow control system in a bioreactor used in the biological treatment of water is considered. The relevance of the study stems from the need to improve the efficiency of treatment facilities, since the environmental safety and health of the population depend on the quality of wastewater treatment. The study aims to optimize the process of feeding wastewater into the bioreactor to ensure maximum biological treatment efficiency by maintaining optimal conditions for microorganisms. A system for automatic wastewater flow control has been developed and implemented using a PID controller based on a Siemens Simatic S7-1200 controller, an SEW-Eurodrive MC07B0030-5A3-4-00 frequency converter, a VEM MOTORS K21R 100 L4 pump, and an Endress + Hauser flow sensor. A Weintek MT8071iE operator panel was used to visualize and configure the process. Process control simulation was performed in Matlab/Simulink to determine the optimal parameters of the PID controller (Kp, Ki, Kd). The obtained settings were implemented in the real system. Comparative results of the unoptimized and optimized systems were obtained.
