Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-Assisted Technologies

The editorial board of the journal recognizes the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in scientific research and implements this policy to ensure transparency, publication quality, and adherence to the principles of academic integrity. This policy defines the acceptable scope of AI use for authors, reviewers, and editors and requires mandatory disclosure of its use.

Authors may use AI tools during manuscript preparation solely as auxiliary means—for improving text readability, correcting language errors, уточнення довідкових даних, verifying formulas, or conducting preliminary plagiarism analysis. The use of AI must be carried out under full human control, and authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, reliability, and originality of the material. All uses of AI must be disclosed in the manuscript, specifying the tool and the nature of its use. AI cannot be listed as an author or co-author.

The use of generative AI to create or modify images, illustrations, or other visual materials in manuscripts is prohibited, except in cases where such technologies constitute part of the research methodology. In such situations, authors must provide a detailed description of the tools used, including their name, version, and method of application. Violation of these requirements may result in editorial actions, including manuscript rejection or article retraction.

Reviewers are required to adhere to the principles of confidentiality and are not permitted to use AI tools to analyze manuscripts or generate reviews, nor to upload manuscript materials into such tools. Responsibility for the content and objectivity of the review lies solely with the reviewer.

Editors must ensure the confidentiality of materials and must not use AI in the process of editorial evaluation and decision-making regarding publication. All decisions must be based on professional judgment and collegial consideration. In cases of detected or suspected violations of this policy, the editorial board acts in accordance with the procedure defined in Section 3.

This AI policy complies with current international standards of publication ethics and will be updated in line with technological developments.
